Aliso Beach County Park in Laguna Beach, CA

Rating: You Should Go

This place had been a favorite of my parents for a short time before we decided to go there.  It was our sixth dating anniversary when we went for the first time, and also happened to be the place Nathan decided to propose.  Needless to say, Aliso Beach holds a special place in our hearts.

Besides being an excellent spot to propose, this beach is unique in other ways.  It looks like a private beach from the street because there's a large resort blocking any signs of the beach itself.  You need to park along the street (where there's metered parking) and walk along a path leading down the hill.  Once you get down the hill, there is a sidewalk along the resort lined by green lawn and benches where you can sit down and picnic.  If you walk down the stairs to the beach, you'll find smooth sand and lots of tide pools to explore.  It's really got everything, and each time we've visited there have been very few people.   We really think You Should Go and see this place for yourself.
