Rating: You Should Go
Flo's is a local favorite for Chinoians...Chinoans...Chino residents, whatever they're called. It's a diner located on the busy street of Riverside Dr. that has a small-town community feel. In fact, it's so small-town that when one of the ladies stopped everyone in the middle of lunch to announce that someone at the counter had won a contest, we all clapped for them, and when a little boy spilled hot
chocolate on himself and started crying, we all stopped our talking and offered our help and sympathy. It's a very different atmosphere from the usual self-centeredness of Southern California. The best part, of course, is the food. I LOVE their breakfast options, which are served all day (except waffles which are inexplicably only served until 1pm). The lunch and dinner food is very good also. The portions are big and the prices are cheap (most meals under $10), just like you'd expect from a good diner. I have never had any problems with the food. Since it is popular, you may want to call ahead on weekends or during dinner if you don't want to wait long. We went on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation, and it still only took about 30 minutes to get seated. Whether you've lived in Chino all your life or you're just passing through, you should definitely stop by Flo's #2.
