I had a craving for crepes one day, so Nate and I went out late one night hoping to get a little dessert while trying out a new place. Unfortunately, when we got there, we discovered the store actually closed at 9pm instead of 10pm like the website said. That night we ended up going to TGI Friday's and eating the Oreo Cookie madness instead.
BUT, on a different day we went out earlier and decided to get dinner and dessert, and that was when we finally got to eat at this quaint little restaurant.
Crepes de Paris is located in the Victoria Gardens mall near JCPenny. If you park next to JCPenny and then walk down the street closest to Flannigan's, you'll see it snuggled next to a salon with some tables and chairs outside. If you get there before 9pm, you might even find the lights on and the door open. Luckily, that was the case on this second trip. Nate and I looked over the menu above the register and decided to share a breakfast crepe (Du Soleil) and a dessert crepe (Royal). Even though we ordered at the front, one of the workers brought the food to our table for us. There were french-theme murals on the walls and flowers in small vases on each table. Both crepes were really big and really delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast crepe since I had never had a savory one before. The restaurant also serves sandwiches, soup, and lots of coffee choices if those suit your tastes more.
I liked the intimate feel of the shop, especially in such a busy mall as Victoria Gardens. It made for a fun and romantic little outing. The crepes were a little expensive, at $8 to $9 each, but they also have crepes to go for about $5 each. To be a meal, you'd have to have a whole savory crepe to yourself (not share one like we did), but I think this place is best for between meals or dessert. We'll most likely return.
P.S. (3-13-12) We have since been to the Crepes de Paris in Brea, CA several times. I prefer this location because there is a lot more indoor seating and the service is always fast and friendly.
TIP: If you're a Southwest Rapid Rewards member, this is one of the restaurants you can earn points from.
