Liberty Hotel in Hollywood, CA

Our church gave me a small trip to the Hollywood area as a thank-you for helping out, so I decided I might as well bring Nathan along, too :) Since people know that I usually care more about spending money on experiencing things than where I stay, they decided not to
spend an arm-and-a-leg on our hotel for the night. The place we stayed is called the Liberty Hotel and the location can't be beat for the price.

When you go there to check in, park along the back (as seen in the picture above). If you're on Highland going toward Hollywood Blvd, make a right on Franklin and then an almost immediate left on the little alley behind the gas station (or do a u-turn to get to it). That will take you to the hotel's parking lot. From here, it's a 2 minute walk to the Hollywood and Highland Center where you can find almost everything there is to do in Hollywood. The the star walk, Grauman's Chinese Theater with the hand prints, several bus tours, wax museums, Hard Rock Cafe, a mall, Ripley's Believe It or Not and the Guiness World Records Museum are all within this corner of Hollywood. The best thing about this hotel is you don't need to pay for parking and you can walk to everything you need.

As far as the room itself, it was pretty basic. A king bed, a TV with a cable package (no HD channels), free wi-fi, and a mini-fridge. The linens were clean and the bed was comfy, just not much to look at. It was also a little musty in the entire hotel. The only problem I had was that the Venetian blinds covering the 3 windows in our room were not doing anything to stop the sun from waking me up in the morning. Other than that, it's a nice little place for a good price for right in the heart of Hollywood. I'd probably stay here again.
