We discovered Woolworth Diner on Yelp while we were driving to Yosemite. The diner is on the far side of a very large antique store and there's only a short metal gate that separates the two areas, so you can window antique while you eat. The entrance is on the side of
the building, but you can get to it from inside the store. The food was classic American burgers and fries. They had some chocolate cake and hot dogs, but besides that the menu was very simple. The food was good and fresh and only slightly more expensive than fast-food (about $7 a meal). If you're looking for something that's not fast food on your way through Bakersfield, I would definitely recommend stopping here for a bite to eat.
