Rating: You Should Go
Logan's Candies is a local family-owned shop that my sister-in-law just happens to work at. I've stopped by the shop for their hand-made chocolates and other sweets, and even had their candy canes at a friend's wedding. This was the first time I had been to one of their candy making demos. They host group demos (if booked by July of that year) starting as early as November, but the public demos start Thanksgiving week and are FREE.
We went on a Saturday in November at the 8:30pm showing and it was not overly crowded. It was a lot of fun to see the candy making mold the candy cane mix and add the coloring. The owner (who does the demo) is also very fun to listen to, which makes the time pass quickly. They also give out small samples of the fresh, warm canes, which is a unique experience. You can even pay
$1.35 to shape your own candy cane (and keep it to eat) if you want a more hands-on experience. We were there for about an hour from the start of the demo until a little after they passed out the samples, so you'll need to schedule a good chunk of time (and wear comfortable shoes since it's standing room only). Whether you've lived in the area your whole life or are just passing through, you need to stop by this quaint candy shop.
