Hip Kitty Jazz and Fondue in Claremont, CA

Rating: You Should Go

We've had friends recommend the Hip Kitty for a while now but we never made it around to going there until last week. Nate and I had a date night on a Tuesday because from 6:30-9pm they have Happy Hour (Tues-Thurs). We tried the half-priced grilled cheese and soup (you can get a salad instead of you prefer). It was very good, surprisingly filling,
and only $6 a  meal. The fondue can be a lot more expensive, but you can manage with a group to get the bill to around $10 a person before drinks. The night we went, there was a DJ instead of a live band. The place was almost empty (although we did get there really early at 7pm). I would suggest getting there around 8 or 8:30, with enough time to get the happy hour deals but not so long (like us) that you leave before the performance starts. The service was great, the people were friendly, and I hear the performances are very good. We loved our own experience and the whole Claremont area surrounding it is worth an evening walk, as well. We look forward to going again.
