Extraordinary Desserts in San Diego, CA

Rating: You Should Go

Extraordinary Desserts kept coming up in our search for food, so we saved some room for dessert and tried it out.  It was in the middle of a busy city area and kind of stuck out from everything else around it.  The inside is beautiful, with a large display of all their desserts, high ceilings, and tons of indoor seating (although you wouldn't know it from the amount of people that were gathered outside).

We decided to get ours to go, so we browsed the displays as best we could with the large crowds.  Each dessert was topped with a flower and usually some gold leaf to accentuate its specialness.  Not everything on the menu was still available (like chocolate chip cookies - dumb), only the things we could see.  The desserts were priced about the same as a restaurant, $4-$10 for a brownie, beignet, or slice of cake.  Full cakes started at around $40 but looked amazing.  We just got a dark chocolate chai tea cookie ($2.50) and a chocolate bar ($8.50).  Both were delicious.  If you decide to go, I would suggest leaving enough time and room in your stomach to sit down and eat.  The atmosphere and flavors would be a perfect combination.

  1. I really want to try that chocolate that nate was talking about. I've had a sweet tooth for weeks now.
