Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach, CA

Pottery
Rating: You Should Go

The Sawdust Art Festival is held each summer in Laguna Beach.  This year, it was open from June 24-August 28.  The admission cost was $7.75 for adults, $6.25 for seniors, and $3.25 for children 6-12 (plus whatever else you want to spend on art or food while you're there).  We
actually found a deal on Groupon for $4 a ticket.  There's parking near the festival, but it's $10-$15.  Instead, we chose to park in the metered parking closer to the beach and walk a little ways (which was close enough for me to walk in flip-flops).  Metered parking is only $1 an hour and the green meters even take credit/debit cards.

The festival was a lot of fun to walk around.  There's wood chips covering the ground and a cool breeze from the nearby ocean.  We walked around taking pictures and talking with some of the vendors.  They have blown glass, paintings, photographs, metal work, pottery, jewelry...just about everything.  There are also places to eat and the restrooms are very nice, even though they look a little like rest stops from the outside.  Most of the vendors take cards for payment, but if you want food you'll need cash.  We didn't have cash on us so I really can't say if the food was any good.  There's live music playing at either end of the festival.  It was a fun time that gave me some ideas for art projects I want to try myself.
