Picazzo's: Where Pizza is Art |
A quick word of advice - check to see if your accommodations have discounts for local restaurants. We could have gotten a discount at most of these place if we had checked first.
Picazzo's - You Should Go
Picazzo's is an organic pizza place with a LOT of gluten-free options. The food was great and
the atmosphere was relaxing. It's a little on the expensive side (averaging $20 for a gourmet medium pizza). My only advice is not to trust the waitors. Ours told us the salad and breadsticks were a lot smaller than they really were. One order of each would have been enough for the six of us. Also, a mini pizza is enough for 2 people (unless you want lots of leftovers).
The Ambiance |
The pictures on the website are a little deceptive. It looks like the restaurant is hanging off the edge of a cliff overlooking a beautiful red rock landscape. In face, it's on a flat strip of land that used to be an airport. Aside from that disappointment, everything else was amazing. The restaurant has an open feel with large windows looking out onto the landscape. We went for breakfast and everything was amazing. Most plates came with potatoes and fruit. I had the French toast which was delicious. The price is very good (every plate is under $10). I would eat there again.

Javelina Cantina - You Should Go
The Javelina Cantina is a very popular spot in Sedona, so it might be a good idea to make reservations on the day you're planning to go. We went on a night that they were offering buy-one get-one free meals and we wanted to sit by the window, so it was a long wait for us (although it worked out perfectly because we had a late lunch). The food was really good and reasonably priced (averaging $15 a meal). I'm used to American Mexican food, so maybe it's not as authentic as some people would like, but it was very good. I had the pollo asada enchilada and carne asada taco and both were some of the best I'd had. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Sedona.
Red Rock BBQ - You Should Go
Red Rock BBQ is a little restaurant in the middle of Sedona. It's not much to look at and lacks the great views of other restaurants, but the food is very good and inexpensive. I had the brisket sandwich (which was not the best I've had but still good). The sides are really what make it (the smoked potato salad is AMAZING). With all plates under $10, it's definitely worth checking out.
Sedona Fudge Company - You Should Go
This is a little fudge shop on one of the main streets going through Sedona. We found a coupon (that we got out of the local Sedona tourism paper) for a free 1/4 pound of fudge when we bought 1/2 pound. The prices are a little expensive ($8 for .5lbs), but all fudge is like that. This place has a lot of different flavors of fudge and all of them were good. We got the cookies and cream fudge. Just ask for some samples before making your decision. You may discover something you love.
