Limerick's Tavern in Upland, CA

Rating: You Should Go

Limericks Tavern is a pub-style bar in Upland. They have a full menu until late at night (we got there at 10pm and they were only serving appetizers and pizza). Since it's a bar, they have a large selection of beer and a decent selection of wine. They have this banana bread beer that is really good if you like banana bread (and are just getting into beers, like myself). I actually ordered a hot chocolate and zucchini fries (both were REALLY delicious). Most places I go I get really thick zucchini
fries that aren't cooked all the way through, but these were thinly cut and perfectly crisp. The prices were decent (around $7 for appetizers, and $10-$15 for entrees). The drinks were regular restaurant prices because we didn't go at happy hour. The place has an old-world feel. It's dark and moody, except for the flashing TV screens everywhere. It's not too loud, though, which makes it easy for large groups to get together and still be able to hear each other. The service for alcohol was really quick but everything else was kind of slow (including getting our check, which took half an hour). I wouldn't recommend this place if you're in a rush. But if you've got some time and want to catch up with some friends in an intimate setting, this is a great place to go.
