La Conversation Cafe in Los Angeles, CA

Rating: You Should Go

We found La Conversation Cafe while searching for somewhere to eat that was close enough for us to walk from the Troubadour venue. This was literally just around the corner. It's a little French bakery and cafe just on the border of Beverly Hills next to Santa Monica Blvd (the sign for
Beverly Hills is right across the street), which makes this especially great if you like to sight-see. We got complementary sweet crescent rolls and mini pumpkin muffins before our meals (and even got 4 extra when we left to take home with us). Nathan had scrambled eggs and an English muffin (they serve breakfast all day) and I had the Monte Cristo sandwich. The sandwich had chunks of chicken, not deli slices, so it was very filling. Everything was delicious. Although it was a little on the expensive side ($8.50 for Nate's meal and $13.50 for mine), it was one of the cheapest places to eat in that area. The one thing you need to know is they close at 7:00pm, so get there early if you want to go. It is a really cute little cafe, though, with a friendly, small-town feel that you should definitely try if you're in the area.
