Rating: You Should Go
Nate's Uncle John told us about this stop after we stayed with him at his home in Mt Vernon. It was 90 degrees in Washington and we had just packed up our bags in a home with no air conditioning (or even fans) so we were looking for a way to cool down. Snow Goose Produce is a large produce stand on the side of the road that has fresh seafood, fruits, veggies, homemade goods, and (best of all) ice cream. We went
there for the ice cream. There was a line going out the door when we got there, which took us about 15 minutes to get to the front of. Luckily, the area outside the door was mostly shaded. They have all sorts of ice cream flavors, from regular to gourmet (ranging from $3.50 to $5.75 for a "small" scoop in a waffle cone or cup). They also have kid-sized ice cream cones. We all got a "small" scoop of a regular flavor. They hand-make their waffle cones right in front of you, which makes them warm, crispy, and delicious. The ice cream was creamy and perfect. I would suggest spending the $0.50 for an extra spoon and dish even if you do get the cone, because it was so much ice cream that it was melting faster than I could eat it (especially on such a hot day). If you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by this place for a bite to eat.
