This place was recommended by our hotel staff. We loved the food, service, and atmosphere so much we went there again that same trip. It's located right off of a dock so you're not right on the water but you've got a good view of it. The food is in the $10-$15 range. It's just got a good relaxing feel to it.
Hobo's Cafe - You Might Like It
This place does not look like much from the outside and there is no ocean view (no view at all, really), but they've
got good food and sports on TV. The food is in the $10-$20 range. We would eat there again.
Mrs. Mac's Kitchen - You Should Go
This place had a fun atmosphere. It's a regular sandwich and burger joint but covered in license plates. Airplanes made out of soda cans hang from the ceiling (which you can buy for I think $15 if you think it'll make the trip home safely). Good food, in the $10-$15 range, and just plain fun.
Doc's Diner - You Should Go
Literally a hole-in-the-wall place. Really good food (the kind where you can feel your arteries clogging) in really big portions. A meal is around $10. Make sure to get there early, though. They close at 2pm.
Snappers - You Should Go
This place was right on the water on its own little dock. It had great fish and other food (including delicious key lime pie). The food is in the $15-$25 range. We loved just sitting at a table by the water sipping wine and enjoying the cool evening breeze.
Carribean Club - You Might Like It/Don't Go
I'm not sure what to say about this one. This place was right next to our hotel and advertised itself as the building from the Key Largo movie. In reality, the part that was in the movie blew away in a hurricane years ago. All that's left is a basic bar with lots of Humphrey Bogart memorabilia. If you like to just chill in a bar with Humphrey staring at you from all directions, than you'll probably like this place. If you're looking for a piece of cinematic history, though, you may be disappointed.Pierre's Restaurant (Islamorada) - You Might Like It
This was our big splurge restaurant for the trip. It's located right on the beach (the west side of the Keys so you can watch the sunset). The inside and outside are beautiful, but we ate on the upstairs balcony. The food was very good but nothing amazing. We had a fruit and cheese sampler served on a marble slab and shared a meal, dessert, and a glass of wine. The total came to around $100 (pretty expensive for sharing everything, but we're light eaters and it filled us up). It was completely worth it for the view, though. We even saw a wedding take place on the beautiful white sand beaches.
There are more places that we visited but it's been so long since we went that we can't remember the others. We got all of these off of Trip Advisor's "Top 10 Restaurants for Key Largo" (except for the one that's in Islamorada) and from our hotel staff. Here's a link to a Google map we created for our trip that lists these and other places to visit in the Keys. Honeymoon Google Map
