Huntington Library in San Marino, CA

Rating: You Should Go

We have been to this beautiful garden/museum at least six times over the years (twice most recently just to take engagement photos).  This place is huge and has so much to do and see.  There are about 7 museums (including a large historical library building) and 13 or 14 gardens.  This place is great
to spend a whole day at (or at least their entire hours of operation).  They have a Tea Room where you can make a reservation for lunch, but if you want to save money (as we always do), you can just pack a lunch and eat in the shade by the lily pond.

We love every garden there.  We usually stop in every new location and take a few pictures.  Our favorites are the Japanese, Chinese, and Rose Gardens.  They have such beautiful architecture and peaceful flowing streams.   They also have a Children's Garden and a Learning Greenhouse perfect for kids (and adults) to explore and learn about nature.  We don't usually make it all the way through the park in a single day, but I'm sure it can be done.  Just remember to bring sturdy, comfortable shoes because you will do a lot of walking.  They are open certain days from 10:30am to 4:30pm, and the cost is $10 for students and $15-$20 for regular adult admissionChildren under 5 are free and ages 6-11 are $6.  We just love going there.
