4th of July Fireworks in Yorba Linda, CA

Rating: You Should Go

We moved to Orange County on July 1st and looked around for a new place to celebrate Independence Day.  Luckily, we have friends that have lived in the area for years who invited us to join them at Veteran's Park.  The events begin at 5pm hosted by a DJ, and the fireworks show starts at 9pm.  There's no parking lot so everyone parks along the streets.  It's a hilly walk down to the park so you might want to bring some good walking shoes.
When we got there around 7:30, the place was already packed.  People had literally roped off areas for larger groups where they cooked and played games.  We just brought a couple lawn chairs and a blanket and set them up in the gaps.  We sat and talked and listened to the music until it was time to start the show.  There were some announcements, including a moment of silence to remember troops who had recently died for our country, and then the lights went down.  The show was just the right length and set to all the usual patriotic music.  It was a lot of fun and we will definitely go back next year.

The crowds of people.
