K-R Drive Inn in Oakland, OR

Rating: You Should Go

Just off the I-5, there is a beat-up looking Drive-In that serves some amazing ice cream.  If you're traveling North, you'll see the tall sign to the left.  Take the Rice Hill exit to the right and it
will circle around back under the freeway.  There's a little ice cream shop by the gas station, but don't be fooled, keep going until you reach the beat-up looking eatery.

K-R Drive-Inn serves shakes, ice cream, and food, all at very cheap prices ($1-$5).  If you order a shake, be willing to wait quite a while.  There is also something you should know about the ice cream.  Ignore the sizes pictured on the window.  The "baby" sized ice cream cone is a rather large single scoop.  The "small" is a large double scoop, and so forth.  We were fooled into by the picture and the term "baby" into buying more ice cream than we could possibly eat.  Also, you can get a bowl for your ice cream but it costs $0.25 (and you'll probably need one if you get a "small" or larger in the summer time).

Now that we've got the sizes figured out, we plan to make K-R Drive Inn a regular stop on our trip to Oregon.
